The religion that is married to science today is a widow tomorrow, while the religion that is divorced from science today leaves no offspring tomorrow. -- Holmes Rolston III
Fifth Meeting: Thursday, Feb. 21, 7:30pm, at the Boulevard Room, Pierpont Commons (UM North Campus) Topic: Whale Evolution (Ryan Bebej presenting)
ScATs (Science and Theology) is a group that meets monthly to discuss matters arising at the interface between contemporary science and the Christian faith. While some might suggest that contemporary science is incompatible with religious faith, ScATs is committed to exploring the consonances and dissonances that arise from the scientific picture of the universe in its discussions with Christian theology. Through readings, discussions, and the contributions of participants from a wide variety of backgrounds and expertise, ScATs encourages a growing literacy in both theology and science.
Meetings are held at various locations. Meetings are open to all interested persons. For more information, contact Paul Gottschalk (
